Moving away from makeup today for something a little different. I thought I would share with you some of my favourite budget friendly skin/body care products, some golden oldies and some newer finds! As much as I love makeup, I think keeping your skin well looked after is important, especially if, like me, you wear makeup often.
Taking care of my skin has not always been a priority for me, I used to see it as a bit of a gimmick, but now that I’m older, I really notice the difference it makes if you put some time into caring for your skin. Most importantly this doesn’t need to come with a massive price tag!
The first products I wanted to mention are from the brand Nip + Fab. I hadn’t really heard of them until I tried a sample of their moisturiser in a monthly beauty box a year ago, and since then I have been officially hooked!
I have been using the Kale Fix Moisturiser daily for a few months now and have noticed great benefits for my skin. I have quite dry skin and by using this every night before bed, I have noticed my skin is much more moisturised. This means my makeup sits a lot nicer on my skin. It has a fresh scent to it, almost a cucumber-esque smell. It is not particularly strong, but if you don’t like scented products it may be worth avoiding. You can buy the product at the moment for around £8-10 for 50ml when the product is on offer, either on the Nip + Fab website itself or on Lookfantastic. Usually the product retails for £19.95 but there are always offers so I never pay the full RRP! I think for the price you get a really good moisturiser that will last a long time, so I am prepared to pay a few more pounds. Let me know if you have any recommendations for a budget friendly moisturiser!
One of my more recent finds has been the Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood cleansing pads (don’t be put off by the name!). When I was browsing the Nip + Fab website recently (which I would recommend having a look at!) I found these cleansing pads on offer for only £5 (RRP £9.95), so I thought I would give them a try. Admittedly, I am not very good at cleansing my skin, I find it a step that I usually can’t be bothered to do! But now I have started using these pads that are already soaked in the product, I just wipe them over my face after removing my makeup. They have a strong smell has they have hyaluronic and salicylic acid in them to deeply cleanse and plump up your skin. They give a slight tingly session but not uncomfortably so. I have noticed that my skin has felt a lot cleaner and more radiant when I have been using these. For only £5 for 60 pads I am already looking to order some more!
I have been a long time fan of Soap and Glory skin care products. The products always smell amazing and I am yet to find one that I don’t like. My favourite Soap and Glory products are the Sugar Crush Body Scrub and the Heel Genius foot cream. I love the scrub, it’s great for exfoliating and smells amazing of lime and almonds. I wish you could smell it through the screen, that’s how nice it is! It is not too abrasive and is especially good in the summer to help with taking off spray tans! You can get the product in Boots for around £8 or here on Amazon for a bit more. Mine is in its old packaging but that just shows how long it lasts! The Heel Genius foot cream is just that, genius! You may think it’s a bit strange to mention a foot cream, but being always on my feet, I am constantly needing something to relieve my tired feet and heal any dry skin. The product has the usual Soap and Glory luxurious smelling scent but is just amazing for healing your tired feet. It is slippery after use however so put some socks on after using! You can buy the product in Boots for only £5.50.
Lastly, one of my favourite everyday products for skin maintenance is the Barry M lip scrub in Mango. Lip scrubs are such a great everyday product, especially in the cold weather (as it is always cold in the UK) when your lips are drier. Also I find that as I wear lipstick often, this dries out my lips. I therefore need to regularly exfoliate my lips using the scrub which makes a massive difference. The lip scrub is gentle and smells like Mango of course! I find it to be moisturising as well as gently exfoliating. You can buy the scrub for £4.99 in Superdrug or Boots.
So there are just a few of my top budget skincare products. What are your favourite skincare products? I’d love to hear your recommendations! Thank you to everyone who has been recommending products that they love, I really appreciate your input!
