For the past few years, I have become mildly obsessed with trying out different beauty subscription boxes. Some admittedly better than others, but I have found it such an enjoyable experience to try a massive range of products and basically give myself a surprise gift every month! There are so many different beauty boxes to choose from, ranging from makeup to nails to body care. I have discovered a load of different products that I would never have tried before by subscribing to these boxes and I would highly recommend trying out a subscription for anyone looking to get new beauty products on a budget. Usually, the contents of the beauty boxes are worth a lot more than the subscription itself, so I have found that it is a great way for me to try out more expensive beauty products on a budget, for example brands such as Glam Glow and Benefit.
One of my favourite boxes that I have tried so far is Birchbox due to the fact that they stock some great well known brands and don’t include the dreaded face mask/perfume samples (well not that I have had so far!) Luckily for me, my mum actually bought me a 6 month gift subscription for my birthday, so I have been enjoying Birchboxes for the past 4 months and will be very sad when the subscription ends!
April’s Birchbox is Cath Kidston themed this month to celebrate Cath Kidston’s 25 year anniversary. I absolutely love the packaging and I was pleased to see a Cath Kidston product in the box. I already own a Cath Kidston hand cream so I know that I will love and enjoy this one too. A highlight (see what I did there) for me in this box is the baked highlighter in ‘Moonshine’ from Model Co. It is a really nice colour and gives off a lovely glow. I really enjoy Birchbox for the reason that they tend to include high quality make-up products like this.
I was also excited to see a brow gel from Beautaniq Beauty in the box. I haven’t heard of the brand before, but as Birchbox tailor the box to your requirements, they have given me the product in ‘Brunette’ which I am looking forward to trying.
My least favourite product is probably the Whish Shave Cream in Acai Grapefruit. Just due to the really strong smell that I don’t particularly enjoy. I am intrigued by the BB Cream from Marcelle however, the full size product is usually £25.50 so I have high hopes for this product. Overall I am really pleased with the contents of this box as there are some new brands I am looking forward to trying as well as some higher priced samples.
Have you ever tried a beauty subscription box before? Which one would you recommend, I am always on the hunt for new boxes to try!
