Wedding Edit: The National Wedding Show Birmingham

As you may or may not know, I am now engaged (woo!) We, (well should I say, I) have been starting to plan of all the elements for our perfect wedding. Who would have thought there are so many things to consider! To help me to find some amazing suppliers, myself and my best friend travelled to the National Wedding Show in the NEC in Birmingham to the most gigantic wedding fayre! You may see some wedding spam start to pop up on my blog in the future but I am going to try and keep a lot of it under wraps to keep it a surprise for the guests! Therefore, here is just a brief look at some of what to expect if you are looking to attend!

Once you start trying to plan for your wedding, I would recommend joining a few wedding planning websites as you will be sent information about events such as these. We bought our tickets online for the Saturday show, but did not opt for the VIP tickets which are available. The show is essentially a massive room filled with hundreds of different wedding suppliers. There is also a catwalk which showcases current wedding trends as well as flower crown crafts, food, drink and a lot of people!

There was SO much to look at and try out that it was quite overwhelming. For me, it worked out well to be a pair as it felt a lot easier to navigate and make decisions. I think we were most surprised about how many brides were trying on and buying their dresses at the show! Each to their own, but I would not have the confidence to try on a dress in front of hundreds of people!

On the flip side, there were lots of really amazing and unusual suppliers. The show definitely gave me a lot of ideas that I had not previously considered and I feel like I now have a better idea about what I am looking, or definitely not looking for!

Here is a little insight into some of the amazing stalls and suppliers we found on our way around.

I would definitely recommend the National Wedding Show if you are looking for inspiration. Expect it to be really busy and a bit chaotic but you can find some really amazing suppliers and ideas you hadn’t even thought about! Many of the stalls also had special offers running over the weekend, so if you knew exactly what you wanted you could place your order with them.

I hope you enjoyed this look into the world of weddings! If this is not your thing then don’t worry, they won’t be a really regular feature!

  1. I went to quiet a few local wedding fayres when I first got engaged and found each one completely different! You don’t realise quite how many local suppliers there are until you go to these type of events!

  2. Omg it looks amazing! I’ve been engaged for two years now and we’re finally starting to plan! We’ve been to view a few venues etc. but I never would of thought of a wedding show like this! Definitely going see if there’s something similar for me to attend. Thank you! ♥︎
