I recently stumbled upon an independent beauty brand called Cougar Beauty on Instagram. I was instantly attracted by their prices and their large range of products. They have a range of skincare, bodycare, haircare and makeup products. They also have a load of gift sets, most for only £10 which are well worth a look at for Christmas presents!
Typically for me, I was drawn in by their bargain Halloween deal of 5 mystery products for only £10. Here are the products that I received in the haul.
One of my favourite products in the haul has to be the Liquid Lipstick in ‘Calypso.’ I was really happy to see a makeup product in the package as I love discovering new makeup brands. The shade is a really nice terracotta red which is different to other shades that I own. The liquid lipstick is super silky and easy to apply. It also dries down quickly but does not crack and is really easy to reapply. I am really impressed with how well it lasts for the affordable price of £7.99.
Another favourite from the haul is the Snake Venom Day Moisturiser which is designed to prevent the formation of wrinkles. Granted, I don’t really have too many of those at the moment so I can’t comment on whether it works for wrinkles, but I absolutely love the feel of the formula on my skin. It sinks in really easily and makes my skin feel really hydrated. I have also noticed that my foundation is less likely to cling to dry patches throughout the day if I apply this moisturiser first. You can pick up the moisturiser for £9.99, or they have gift sets that include this product for around £10 also.
I have to say that out of all of the products I am yet to try the Placenta Facial Serum. It is supposed to be great for your skin and hair, I think I just need to get over what it is and try it out as I know that people have used this ingredient for years! However I have tried the Snail Slime Facial Serum RRP £9.99. Similarly to the moisturiser, after using this serum my skin does feel nourished. I need to try it out for a longer period of time to notice any big effects on my skin however but I will continue to use it.
Lastly, over the last few weeks I have been trying out the Extreme Whitening Gel with Activated Charcoal. I am always a bit dubious of whitening gels and toothpastes as I am yet to try one that works. I haven’t noticed a dramatic difference in the whitening of my teeth but I definitely think that they do look whiter. I find that if you use too much it definitely tastes like charcoal and is a bit messy in the sink but I will continue to use it as I think it is actually making a gradual difference.
I definitely want to try out more in the range after using these products. The products are all really affordable and they are currently running some great offers on their website. Have you got any favourite independent brands? I would love to know about them.
