After attending the Glamour Beauty Festival last week, I came away with lots of new makeup ideas and changes that I wanted to make in my beauty routine, especially after watching the cruelty free makeup talk. At the festival, I tried the new No7 Hydra Luminous range and absolutely loved it straight away. I did have a Boots gift voucher left over from my birthday so I headed to Boots that same weekend to pick up some new No7 products. Usually, I would not even look at No7, as it is more expensive than my everyday products. But after finding out that the brand are cruelty free, I was happy to pay a little more and hoped the quality would also match the price.
There was also a 3 for 2 offer on all cosmetics and skincare so I managed to get the whole lot for under £30. I also had some free No7 foundation drops (not pictured here) with a voucher that I picked up at the Glamour Beauty Festival which I will definitely be trying out in the future. Let me know if you would like to hear my thoughts on those too!
What did I purchase?
I picked up the Stay Perfect foundation in the shade ‘Calico’, the HydraLuminous concealer also in the shade ‘Calico’ and the Beautiful Skin night cream. One of the things I loved about my experience with No7 was that they use a small machine to match your skin colour to one of their foundations as part of their service. I absolutely hate trying to match a foundation to my skin and have got it wrong on so many occasions, so this was a big plus for me!
As I mentioned, the products are a little more expensive than I usually would pay but end up not being really pricey at all because of all of the offers that Boots run. For example, the HydraLuminous concealer is currently on offer for £10, the foundation retails at £15 and the Beautiful Skin night cream at £14.
If you are interested in the products, currently Boots No7 are running really great offers in which you can get 3 for 2 on skincare products or you can get a free gift worth £26 when you buy 2 selected No7 cosmetic products (update: offers no longer available) So you see what I mean, when you include all the offers you end up with some bargains!
What are my thoughts on the products?
I applied the foundation and concealer on the right side of my face in this picture to show you how it looks in comparison to my regular skin.
I absolutely love this foundation! It is really buildable yet still feels light on my skin. It is a really good colour match, although the lighting in this picture does make it look a bit more orangey than in real life! I will say that the concealer does not have as much coverage as I usually prefer but definitely does not dry out my under eyes and does not sit in any fine lines or creases. I love the applicator which makes it really easy to apply. Overall out of the two products, I think I would repurchase the foundation or try out another in their range now I know my shade!
I feel like I have hit the jackpot with this night cream. This is exactly the product I have been looking for to tackle my really dry skin. As the product is designed for dry/very dry skin it is really thick and luxurious but sinks in pretty quickly. The scent reminds me a bit of sun cream but it is not overpowering. I have already noticed a massive change to my skin in the couple of weeks that I have been using this night cream. I will have to repurchase this product as I don’t know if I can be without it now!
What are my final thoughts?
Overall I was very impressed with my first try of No7 products. I feel like I have taken a step in the right direction in my beauty routine with the brand being cruelty free. Although No7 costs a little more than I would usually pay, they are definitely high quality products and with the offers that are run at Boots you can get a lot for your money. The night cream is honestly the best I have ever tried and now I am tempted to try some more of their skincare! Would you be interested in reading more about No7 products?
