Edit in 2020: Physicians Formula is no longer Cruelty Free due to selling in China! I loved the products at the time but won’t be repurchasing due to this change.
2019 brought about a real change for me in the beauty world after switching to buying solely cruelty free products in April 2019. I switched because I felt that if I could help the planet and animals in small ways then I would actively seek out products that aren’t harmful to animals i.e. cruelty free. I have kept all of my reviews for non-cruelty free products on my blog as they are part of my blogging history, but you won’t see me talking about these products anymore. I am still a bargain lover, that hasn’t changed, I am just a cruelty free bargain lover now!
I’m really glad I made the change and stopped supporting brands who test on animals as I have discovered a lot of new brands in the process. Shopping cruelty free is a lot easier than you may think!

If you are an avid follower, my 2019 cruelty free beauty favourites will not be a shock to you. I really do use all of the products I recommend and will continue to rave about products that I love! All of these products can be found for less than £20 and are totally worth the money.
2019 really was the year of Revolution Beauty. With so many new launches it was hard to keep up, but with such low prices it was hard to resist. I found their eyeshadow palettes to be especially good value. Of course, you get what you pay for but with prices as low as £5 a palette, I don’t think you can go too far wrong. Revolution Beauty currently have a 50% off sale if you are interested in a naughty January spend!
This primer was part of the goodie bag for the Glamour Beauty Festival 2019 which I paid for myself. I didn’t believe that primers really worked until I started using this one. It helps my foundation stay on a lot longer and gives me a really smooth base to work with. Side Note: I can’t comment too much on whether it reduces pores as I am lucky not to have very visible pores.
One of my more expensive purchases of the year, but I just had to find out what Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty was all about! This highlighter is insanely pigmented and glowy and is the perfect size for travelling. It even has a little mirror inside! I have nothing bad to say about the product, highly recommended and worth the price.
Boy am I glad that Friction Free Shaving reached out to me back in May. I talk about this company so often on my Instagram (instagram.com/bargainbeautyhub) because they have completely revolutionised my shaving experience. I no longer waste rubbish plastic razors and now I have fresh blades delivered monthly (which can also be recycled!) They even have a new Winter option for those months where, let’s face it, the legs stay permanently hairy. Instead of receiving a set of blades, you can choose one of their creams and one blade for whatever length of time you prefer! Go over and send them lots of love as they are also a really fantastic company.
The Body Shop® Shower Gels –
I was very lucky this year to be gifted some products from The Body Shop® as well as attending a few events in my local store with the very lovely The Body Shop® team. Through these products and my own purchases, I have found a deep love for The Body Shop®, especially the shower gels! This may sound strange but hear me out. The consistency of the shower gel is really thick and luxurious and the scents are unrivalled. I know that my fiancé has been using them in the shower too as they have gone down a lot faster than usual! The Body Shop® have a 50% sale on at the moment so make sure you grab your shower gels for under £5!
If you could see the inside of this bronzer you would notice that I have already hit pan after only picking this up in the Summer. This bronzer provides a lovely bronze glow for my pale complexion without looking muddy. It also has the added bonus of smelling like pina colada. It definitely lives up to it’s hype and I will be repurchasing when it runs out!
Last, but definitely not least, the Alex Steinherr X Primark skincare range was one of my highlights of 2019. The collection is really affordable with products starting at only £3. I love the variety of products tailored for different skin types and I especially love the Sleep Spa collection, with the overnight lip mask becoming a firm staple in my skincare routine. Some of the best budget skincare I have tried this year.
I’d love to know your 2019 beauty favourites. I found it so difficult to narrow it down to just a few as 2019 really was a year of new beauty discoveries! I cannot wait to see what 2020 brings and I hope you will join me.
