Scent By Mail – Candle and Home Fragrance Subscription Box

*This box was sent to me for review. As always, all thoughts are my own!

A while back, I stopped pretty much all of my subscription boxes and fell out of love with them. I was a bit fed up of samples and getting repeats of products. In the recent months however, I have discovered some fantastic subscription boxes run by smaller businesses that I really want to support and shout about. One of these is Scent By Mail, a candle and home fragrance subscription box run by the lovely Lauren. Lauren carefully chooses a selection of high quality candles and home fragrances every month, ones that you know will last!

Quick disclaimer: Lauren has not included any beeswax candles in her boxes, but as a company, being cruelty free is not something that Scent By Mail claim. Do therefore use your own judgement when deciding if this box is right for you. The box I received includes candles not tested on animals.

Lauren puts so much care and thought into the boxes and that is evident just from the gorgeous packaging! The box also came very carefully packed so that the candles did not move about or break. I was very impressed!

Depending on how much of a candle addict you are, you can choose from the following subscriptions:

Scent Explorer (3 piece box) £15 + P&P

Scent Enthusiast (5 piece box) £20 + P&P

Scent Extraordinaire (7 piece box) £25 + P&P

It’s worth noting that the Scent Enthusiast and Scent Extraordinaire boxes come with free starter kits, which include a large wax burner and small glass votive holder (as pictured above), the Scent Extraordinaire box also includes tea lights! The box that Lauren kindly sent me was the Scent Enthusiast box. On first subscription, everyone who signs up to the Scent Enthusiast subscription receives the box pictured, which is a selection of Lauren’s favourite scents. As with most subscription boxes, Lauren has included a description of each scent and their prices.

Scent by mail contents

I loved the different selection of products in the box, from tinned candles, to wax melts, to fragrance sachets. I have to agree with Lauren that the Bridgewater Candle Company fragrance sachet (Lauren’s top pick) smells incredible. I have put it in my bathroom and it fills the whole room, it’s definitely a strong fragrance! I have also started burning the Yankee Candle and Shearer Candle (a new brand to me) which fill the room with a relaxing aroma.

Overall the contents of the box at RRP add up to almost £28, not including the wax burner RRP £9.99 and votive holder RRP £1.60. You are definitely getting good value for money and contents that are really carefully chosen by Lauren. It is very rare to receive a large wax melt burner in a subscription so that is a real highlight! You can also send the box as a gift to family or friends, which is actually how I discovered the box in the first place, as I sent it to one of my friends for her birthday! Lauren also has surprise boxes in her shop which include a mystery mix of tin candles, jar candles, wax melts, scented sachets or votive candles.

I can’t really stress how much I love this subscription box. You can really tell that Lauren really cares about the selection of products in each box and the contents are all very high quality. I would highly recommend for anyone who is a home fragrance enthusiast or if you are looking for a gift for friends and family.
